The sickness

So I think it is safe to say I have had a shitty week. Won't go to much into detail since this is my first posting, but long story short, I am sick. I have the horrible cold that starts as a sore throat, then the drips, to the blowing my nose every 5 minutes, to the cough and the head congestion. I just want to die. The last thing I wanted to be doing this week was sitting at home in front of the tube.

I have only had cable for this past year of my life and I'm already wishing I didn't. But with being sick and all I really had nothing else to do. So as I am flipping channels, I come across the Tyra show. Trya Banks, tall, African america, beautiful, airbrushed, dieted...uh. I used to watch her show a lot back when I didn't have cable and it was the only thing on, since then though haven't watched a whole lot of it. Well I was very unimpressed and only more frustrated with America.

I watched two shows. One being about "open marriages" (people who have multiple love interest relationships at the same time with open communication.) and one on the famous rapper 50 Cent.

During the first show I was appalled at Tyra. The first two people that came out were married with a 1 1/2 year old son but had an open marriage. They could not even finish a sentence before Trya was spitting out her next negative directed question. Then after asking question after question, and adding her own personal opinions on the matter to frame a picture of how taboo and "discussing" these people were, she brought out their "lovers" to give them the same treatment.

It went on and on. Thinking more about it I was like "Ya Trya could be projecting better things with her famous influence, and ya these people probably should have expected less going onto this show, but I cant change it and I am choosing to watch this."

But then what really through me off was the next show, of which I only watched bits and pieces of. The basic run down of it was, 50 Cent and sex and women in context of "the woman". And the real funny thing was, Trya was playing along with it. She wasn't shoving question after directed question down his throat to paint a negative picture of him for her television audience.

Wow I could not believe this. Trya (keep in mind I don't just have it out for her I imagine she takes many notes from her producers of what to say on her show) would rather support a man that dishonors the female gender in which her salary is dependent on her being (female) than a couple of four who have decided the reality of cheating is too real and built their lives creating a system that works (for them) based on trust and communication.

ehh. I really am displeased with America. If you need a reason to believe it just turn on the tube and watch the great American female influences support the sickness. ( And I'm not talking about the cold I have.)
